THE TOUR (part 2)

Saturday, October 13, 2007
So, we're still touring. We finally get to go home tomorrow (for a little while)! Yay! We're ready. Not that we haven't had fun. These pictures show it. Well, Leeland always mistakes me (Whit) for Shelly, so we thought it would be funny to take a picture and see if he could figure out who was who. Can you guess?

Then the guys made a video about their new record that's coming out (release date is February 28th now). The title track is called "Opposite Way," so they thought they'd do everything opposite, such as wearing their clothes inside out. They came up with a rap which was pretty awesome.

He's one good looking guy!

On a more serious note, one day we visited this place called the "Christian Children's Center" in Boise, ID. They had won a radio contest to have lunch with Leeland. The kids who go there are troubled kids or from broken families. There are four houses with "house parents" who become parents to the kids. It's a great place. The kids were so sweet and loved having the Leeland guys there. Going there really shook us up and put things in perspective. Leeland gave them a shout-out at the show that night, and they were the loudest group there. It was awesome!

We had two days off and stopped in Colorado Springs, CO.

We went to "Garden of the Gods." It was really cool.

Of course it wasn't till after we climbed all over the rocks that we saw this sign. But I'm not so sure it would have stopped the boys anyway.

When we got to Amarillo, TX, we went to this great restaurant. We had fun, as you can see.

Most of the time, we're in the tour bus, which can get old from time to time. But then God sends us a little reminder of why we're there in the first place... for his glory.

Much love,
Jack & Whit

P.S. Jack trimmed his beard. Doesn't he look handsome?

TOURING AROUND THE COUNTRY (part 1)

Saturday, October 6, 2007
So, we're on tour with Casting Crowns and John Waller right now. We've been out for a couple weeks, and we're having a blast! One thing that we're thanking God everyday for is our tour bus! It's been such a blessing to have a place to sleep and hang out.

Here's our big group.. the band - Leeland, Jack, Jake, Mike, & Matt; the sound guy - Marcus; road manager - Darryl; Mama Cyndy and Shelly, Todd - who is also our bus driver!, and me. We're one big happy family.

Well, let's see.. so far we've been to San Antonio, San Jose, Phoenix, Anaheim, Bakersfield (CA), Central Point (OR), and Portland. And we have quite a few to go. But that's okay. God is pouring his love and anointing out every night. It's been cool watching the people's response to Leeland. There are some definite fans, but a lot of people are being introduced to them for the first time. Please be praying for people to be ministered to during their set and for Leeland to gain many new fans! - especially since their second album is coming out soon (March).. we've been listening to the mixes and they're unbelievably amazing! And I'm not just saying that.

Anyways, here's a little taste of life on the road - on an actual tour (Leeland's first)...

In Anaheim, we got to go to Downtown Disney for a little while.

In Bakersfield, we got to hang out with our friends - John, Katy, and Dustin. We had a great time with them. They drove us around everywhere and entertained us. It was fun!

Here we are in Portland, which is an awesome city! Whit found an Anthropologie - yeah!! And we ate a healthy lunch at Whole Foods Market.... then had little mini desserts.

We went to the most amazing bookstore called Powell's! And you know how we love bookstores. It was ginormous! It felt like we were in a cool library with room after room and floor after floor of books. Doesn't that sound lovely? (well to those book dorks like us)

That's our journey so far... we'll try to keep you updated. We love you guys!

BEAVER CREEK VACATION!

Saturday, September 22, 2007
This past week, we went to Beaver Creek, CO on vacation with Whit's family. We really needed a vacation - a real one, which means no working, but just resting and hanging out. And that's just what we did!

We hadn't been there since last July, when we fell in love. Yes, it's a magical place. Just last year, we barely knew each other. And now, a little over a year later, we're married! God is amazing! He loves to surprise us.

So, one of the things we enjoyed most was getting to spend time with Whit's family, especially our little niece, Audrey. Isn't she the cutest baby in the world? Yeah, we think so, too.

We played on our laptops...

Had sister time...

Audrey was the center of attention.

We went to our favorite places, such as Timberhearth, a restaurant on top of a mountain.

We ate and shopped at our favorite places

.. then went into the woods to our favorite bench, to read C.S. Lewis's "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." (last year we sat there and talked of how much we both love C.S. Lewis)

We went on the most beautiful hike!

Another fantastic vacation in BC! Can't wait for the next!

P.S. Jack made a new blog - check it out! Jack's Blog

KANSAS CITY & DISNEY WORLD

Friday, September 14, 2007
A couple weeks ago, we had a day off in Kansas City. So we went to our friends', the Wagy's. They let us stay at their house, and we had a blast! We particulary enjoyed the pool!!

Then we went to this amazing restaurant for brunch. They had the biggest cinnamon rolls we've ever seen!

The next night, the guys played a show at Lifefest. There were 100,000 people there! It was awesome!

Last week, we piled in the van with our family and friends and went to Disney World!! The first day there, we went to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios...

On Friday, we spent the day in Magic Kingdom (I forgot my camera .. sad). Then the guys played at Night of Joy. The shows went great! The next day we went to Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios (my favorite). We had so much fun! Disney World truly is the most magical place on earth!

(the classic Sci-Fi Diner.. it's like a drive-in.. you eat in the car while watching old films)

We love Disney World! Next destination... Beaver Creek, Colorado.. where we fell in love!
