CHRISTMAS!!! Part 1

Sunday, December 28, 2008
Okay, we have a lot of catching up to do... First things first, we went to a tree farm to cut down our own Christmas tree.

These little spiky things got all over us, but it was a fun experience!

We were so sure we had 12 foot ceilings, so we got a 10 1/2 foot tree. But alas, we only have 10 foot ceilings. So we had to do a lot of trunk trimming. But we finally got it up! (though it scraped our ceiling)

.. then did the fun part - decorated it!

Jack had a surprise for me.. he took me on a picnic in Houston. It was precious! And we found the coolest tree ever!

Then we went to Nashville for Thanksgiving with family. Fun times!

Audrey loved the hayride!

Then we had the annual Decorating Party! Snoopy Dance!

Cheesy Christmas sweater contest..

Decorating the tree

We made a Smith Family Christmas cd this year.

Audrey was adorable, as always...

and so was Whitaker. He's smiling and trying so hard to talk - so cute!

We took Audrey to the Christmas parade. She wasn't sure about it at first, but then loved it!

The couples went to the Grinch Ice display. It was amazing! And it was 9 degrees in there!!!

The slide!

One night, it snowed! It was magical!

We went to Dickens of a Christmas in downtown Franklin. Classic!

The guys made a sequel to the Christmas Bandits movie.. called Jingle Bandits. Hilarious!

TO BE CONTINUED (on our trip to New York City!!!)...

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

Last week we went to Kansas City, MO to record some of Lana's songs. We went to our friends', the Wagy's, house, where they have a studio. It was a lot of fun, and the songs sound amazing!

They had their house decorated for Christmas, with 14 Christmas trees all over the house! The decorations and cold weather got us in the Christmas spirit.

So when we got home, we got out the decorations!

I know it's kinda early, but we're not going to be home a lot during the holidays, so we want to enjoy it as long as we can.

And this year, we got to decorate the outside of our house!! (not so easy to do in an apartment)

Magical!

Then we made Williams Sonoma hot chocolate (with toasted marshmallows), and watched Home Alone!

Can you tell we're excited about Christmas?
