IN A NUTSHELL

Thursday, October 30, 2008
Okay, since I haven't updated in so long, here's a fast recap.

Hurricane Ike came.. we evacuated to Dallas...

then to Nashville.. where there were fun and games,

a baby shower for Patti,

Audrey entertaining us the whole time,

a puzzle for fun,

and family.

When we finally returned home to Baytown, it looked like this... electric trucks as far as we could see. Other than that, some fences and signs down, things were pretty much back to normal.

We had some fun nights at the house with the family, with cute Joey and Jonah.

We went to the Houston Art Museum. These statues outside the building kind of scared us.

Again, we went to Nashville. Right before, Whitaker was born! He's tiny and precious!

Big sister, Audrey, is so good with him.

I went to one of my Dad's shows and hung out with my brother and sisters.

Then Jack met Dwight from "The Office."

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

P.S. I love my husband, and my husband loves me!

FRANKLIN, TN & MALAWI, SOUTH AFRICA

Monday, August 18, 2008
A couple weeks ago, I was in Franklin, TN visiting my family...

We have the best family and friends... and the cutest niece in the world!

One day, we went out to Lieper's Fork for lunch. Then we drove on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Gorgeous!

Of course we had to stop to buy a homegrown watermelon...

.. and to ride four wheelers at the farm. (FYI: a skirt, flip flops, and a manual four wheeler isn't the best combination)

We hung out at Ryan & Patti's new precious house.

And I got to see friends, including darling Mary and little Molly.

Patti is going to be having Whitaker really soon! Isn't she adorable?

Last night... a walk in the neighborhood, with Audrey in the wagon.. or waggy, as she calls it.

While I was in Franklin, Jack was in Malawi, South Africa. The Leeland guys played some shows, and the people loved it! They walked miles to see them and they were so joyful.

They shopped in the market one day.

But one of the best parts of the trip was going to an orphanage. The kids were so cute and loved the guys.

This little boy called Jack "daddy," which broke his heart. But the good thing is they're safe and not out on the streets.

The trip was short but life-changing. There's nothing like going to places like Africa! It changes your perspective on life. In America, we have so much, and we so often take it for granted. Though we feel like we may not be able to do much, we should do what we can, which could be simply going on a trip and holding a child who needs to be loved. Jack and I hope to go on many trips to third world countries together in the future.

That's the update on our life right now. Much love to you all!

FROM BEAVER CREEK TO AUSTRALIA

Monday, July 14, 2008
It was time for the annual trip to Beaver Creek, Colorado!! The only sad part was that Jack couldn't come :(

Audrey was even more adorable, with her little teeth.. and she's walking all over the place.

The Glentzers came! Me and Dustin got to be roommates again!

Patti's looking cute with her baby bump.

After a few days, Jack surprised me!!! He came for only 2 days, but that was better than none at all. And he not only surprised me, but everyone! He's the best husband in the world!

Classic Cordillera. Dinner at Timberhearth.

The guys making up funny MUNK songs.

We went on walks everyday. Ah, that's my favorite place to walk. It's breathtaking! And here's our dream house that we pass by on every walk.

We bought some Havianias for Audrey. Aren't they cute?!

The creek...

And our bench. What a perfect place to fall in love!

Audrey entertained us the whole time, of course.

... by doing things such as biting Tyler's nose.

The Glentzers! We love them!

Scattergories!

Fireworks on the 4th!

It was an awesome trip with family and friends!

Right after that trip, Jack, the Leeland guys and wives met up with me, and we flew to Sydney, Australia for the Hillsong conference!

The conference was amazing! It was refreshing and inspiring. We were challenged to go out and witness and reach out to the poor and needy. We're the church, after all, and that's what we need to be doing!

We got to hang out with Brooke and Scotty, our new awesome friends!

We love Joel and JD!

And here we all are with our drivers, Brenton and Linton, who were so amazing the whole time! They are such servants.

We couldn't leave without bringing home some Tim Tams to the fam, the best chocolate biscuit ever!

So, there it is! Two great trips! God is awesome!
